Stress can be described as our body’s reaction to a change that requires a response or adjustment. Stress is a very normal response and natural part of an individual’s life. It can impact our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health due to adverse and demanding circumstances.
Stress can also be a motivator and help you set goals and see them through to accomplishment. On the other hand, too much stress can be an exhausting and debilitating experience. Stress can affect you interest and motivation level. Too much stress can make it very difficult to meet constant demands to the point of procrastination and taking longer to geet things done. Stress will often spill over into every area of your life, and prolonged stress can lead to burnout.
As you can see, stress can be either positive or negative for the body. Each one of us, has a different stress tolerance to stress. Stress may contribute to physical illnesses and mental problems such as depression. On the other hand, physical illnesses and mental illnesses may contribute to stress.
